Scottsburg's FFA (Future Farmers of America) is a co-curricular activity. In order to join the Scottsburg FFA, you must be enrolled in an agriculture education course at SHS. Members can run for chapter, district, state, and even national FFA offices.
The SHS FFA is ranked as a Silver Chapter out of more than 175 others. The Scottsburg FFA members compete in Career Development Events (CDEs), such as dairy judging, livestock judging, horse judging, forestry judging, soils judging, and many more. The FFA also competes in Leadership Career Development Events, which include prepared public speaking, FFA Creed speaking, demonstrations, talent, job interview, and scrapbooking to name a few. The Scottsburg FFA is also involved with the Scott County Fair, where the group sponsors a beef show and a toy tractor show.
